How to Find a Company’s Turnover Using MCA Data?

Written by Timo Vikson • Published on 21 Apr 2025 • Read time minutes

A company’s turnover represents one of the fundamental details to verify about businesses operating in India. Many people improperly think this business information is accessible on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs website, although it is still incomplete.

The MCA website displays fundamental information about registered companies, together with directorial positions and business status information. There is no real turnover data on the website. Users who register for an account and pay a charge can examine the financial statement and other financial records online. The MCA portal is time-consuming and confusing for regular users.

For a faster and easier Company Turnover Check, the CMD Register provides a quicker solution. Without creating an account or downloading the data, users can access financial information, including turnover data, about several companies on this portal. It’s easy to use, quick, and for free.

Can You Check the Company Turnover on MCA.gov.in?

The MCA website is the official place to check registered companies in India. It shows basic details like:

  • Company name
  • Registration number (CIN, FCRN, LLPIN, FLLPIN)
  • Directors
  • Company status, etc

But if you want to check the company turnover, it’s not shown directly.

To view turnover, you need to download the company’s Financial statement that includes the Statement of profit and loss, which is filed under MCA documents.

  1. Go to MCA.gov.in
  2. Log in using your registered user ID.

3. Go to “MCA Services” → “Document Related Services” → “View Public Documents V2 → View Public Documents”. We recommend using V2 service since it has a more complete list of documents than V3.

5. Pay ₹100 per set of documents. This fee allows you to access all documents filed by a company for a specific financial year. Note that you won’t get documents dating back 5 years like on CMD Register platform.

6. Download the Financial statement. Financial Statements are usually in pdf format. Some examples of the name of the Financial statement:

  • XBRL financial statements duly authenticated as per section 134 (including Board’s report, auditor’s report and other documents) -17062023.pdf

The string on numbers in the file name is actually the date when the document  was created17-06-2023
  • XBRL document in respect Consolidated financial statement -02112022.pdf

Consolidated means the financials of a parent company and all its subsidiaries are combined and reported as a single entity.
  • Copy of Financial Statements duly authenticated as per section 134 (including Boards report, auditors report and other documents)- 04122018.pdf
  • XBRL document in respect of balance sheet 30-11-2011 for the financial year ending on 31-03-2011.pdf
  • BS_Company Name_22_Final.pdf

7. Open the file and manually search for turnover (total income): It is usually under Statement of Profit and Loss.

Conclusion

Checking the business turnover of Indian companies becomes challenging through the official MCA website. The website fails to display exact business turnover information. Users need to pay ₹100 to access company documents for certain year  while dealing with a complex multi-step procedure to retrieve this information. The current system makes it difficult to find immediate financial information because it is expensive, time-consuming, and provides barriers for users.

Users can access company turnover details for free through this website platform without any payment or login requirements. The platform provides a smooth company turnover check that displays each business entity’s data on its designated page with transparent information presentation and removes all download or additional step requirements. This approach is accessible to students, investors, and business owners alike, making it suitable for any curious individual.
